Season 2 of online qualification for the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2010 is officially closed. The Season 2 results will now be carefully verified and the winners confirmed. FIFA.com expects to announce the Season 2 winners during the second week of April.

Registered gamers for Season 2 of FIWC10 online qualification weighed in at over 710,000. That’s almost double the amount of players in Season 1! Of that massive pack of Grand Final hopefuls, only 11 names will join Bruce Grannec, the ten live event winners, and the ten Season 1 online winners in Barcelona.

The 32 Grand Finalists will descend on Barcelona on 1 May with the FIWC10 Championship clear in their sights. The FIWC10 Champion will walk away with a number of prizes including $20,000 USD and a trip for two to the 2010 FIFA World Player Gala.

The Season 2 breakdown
In total 11 gamers will qualify via Season 2. The online qualification breakdown for Season 2 is:

4 UEFA seats
3 CONCACAF seats
2 AFC seats
1 CONMEBOL seat
1 CAF seat

Remaining Live Events
There are two FIWC10 live events still to take place. On 10 April, FIWC10 heads to Sao Paulo, Brazil. The following day the live event in Sydney, Australia will conclude the qualification process for the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2010.
