About the FIWC
The FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC) has become the world’s premier virtual football tournament. The 2010 edition of FIWC has seen over half-a-million registered players compete in each of the two online qualification seasons. FIWC Live Events have also continued to be a massive success. To date, eight qualification events for FIWC10 have taken place across the globe, with the two remaining qualifiers scheduled to take place in April.

FIWC10 will visit Sao Paulo, Brazil on 10 April before heading to Sydney, Australia on 11 April.

Meanwhile, Season 2 of FIWC10 online qualification closes on 31 March. 710,000 gamers are currently battling it out on the PlayStation®Network in the hopes of clinching a Grand Final place. Fans will soon know all the names of the 32 Grand Finalists who will complete for the title of FIWC10 Champion in Barcelona on 1 May, where 2009 champion Bruce Grannec will attempt to be the first FIWC champion to successfully retain their title.

The winner of FIWC10 will receive USD20,000 in prize money along with an invitation to the FIFA World Player Gala 2010. At the Gala the FIWC champion will be presented an award in the company of the world’s best footballers.

"To attend the FIFA World Player Gala was an amazing experience. I met with Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, my favourite player Kaka and some of the most important personalities in football," said Grannec after attending the Gala in 2009.
