Between 3-6 April in Trinidad and Tobago six of the region's sides will contest the second Caribbean Futsal Qualifying Tournament, with the top two progressing to the CONCACAF Championship in June, when the confederation's representatives at the FIFA Futsal World Cup Brazil 2008 will be decided.

The qualifying tournament, which will take place at Canedo Hall Centre of Excellence, will have a two-group format. Group A features the hosts plus Puerto Rico and Suriname, and Group B: Guyana, Haiti and St Maarten, with the top two from each section advancing to the semi-finals.

The two finalists, as well as vying for the title, will also travel to Guatemala in early June in search of one of CONCACAF's three berths for Brazil 2008. Joining them there will be hosts Guatemala plus Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Panama and the USA.

This week's event in Trinidad and Tobago, which has been organised by the Caribbean Football Union, had originally been scheduled for Guyana in the first week of March. The inaugural edition of the tournament was held in St. Augustine in 2004, with the hosts claiming the title.

The 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup, the sixth in all, will take place in Brazil between 30 September and 19 October.
