Netherlands striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was unable to train with his fellow UEFA EURO 2008 squad-mates today because of a thigh injury, the Dutch Football Federation has revealed. The Ajax player is, however, expected to be fit for the Group C match against France on Saturday according to coach Marco van Basten.

"It is nothing too serious," said Van Basten, who will be hoping his side can replicate their impressive 3-0 win over world champions Italy. "We will see on Thursday whether he can train."

Huntelaar, 24, is effectively the Dutch's second-choice striker behind Real Madrid's Ruud van Nistelrooy, who opened the scoring against the Azzurri.
