With the UEFA EURO 2008 party now in full swing,
FIFA.com wants to know which team you think will
prove the biggest surprise package. Germany, Spain, Portugal,
Italy, France and Netherlands are among the favourites for most
football fans, but which underdog do you see causing a stir at the
tournament?
With Greece's shock triumph four years ago in Portugal
still fresh in the mind, the confidence of some of the so-called
lesser sides should be sky-high up among the Alps. The Greeks,
themselves, will be hoping lightning can strike twice, while
co-hosts Switzerland and Austria - tipped by seemingly all pundits
to slink quietly out in the group stages - could well be primed to
take advantage of home comforts and cause an upset or two.
Croatia, conquerors of England in the qualifying rounds, will be
aiming high and Guus Hiddink's Russia, with a handful of
players from UEFA Cup winners Zenit St. Petersburg, could be a side
to watch. Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Sweden and Turkey also
represent decent outside bets in what looks an astoundingly
balanced European finals.
So, it's over to you: who will be the surprise package of
EURO 2008? Just click 'Add your comment' to join the
