USA's remarkable win over in-form European champions Spain will go down in the history books as one of the great upsets, and FIFA.com wants to know how the result ranks historically. It's over to you, what do you think was the biggest shock of all time in a senior FIFA tournament?
Having lost their opening two group matches and facing a Spanish team in rare form on the back of a 35-match unbeaten streak stretching over three years, the United States win was truly against the odds. However, it is not the first time the FIFA Confederations Cup has seen equally stunning upset scorelines. World champions have met their match, notably in 2001 when France suffered a shock 1-0 loss to Australia, and in 2003 when African champions Cameroon overcame Brazil by the same scoreline.
The FIFA World Cup™ has produced no shortage of astonishing upsets over the years and arguably the first great upset was USA's 1-0 win over England in 1950. Korea DPR's 1-0 triumph over Italy is equally lauded as one the most startling results on the world's greatest stage.
African nations have produced their share of eye-catching results over highly regarded opposition, with Algeria paving the way with their 2-1 triumph over superpower West Germany at Spain 1982. Cameroon's inspiring opening match victory over reigning world champions Argentina in 1990, and replicated by Senegal against France in 2002, are two more that spring to mind.
So, it's over to you. Which result do you consider the biggest upset in the history of the FIFA World Cup and the FIFA Confederations Cup?
