The FIFA Confederations Cup Mexico 1999 continues to attract large numbers of media representatives and spectators likewise.
Some 600 media representatives have so far been accredited to the event taking place in Mexico City and Guadalajara. While the Mexican media account for a large share, the international media are well represented.
Matches of the showdown of the continental champions will be televised live or tape-delayed to more than 70 countries worldwide. Two global news services will broadcast short footage to territories all over the world.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Local Organising Committee, Justino Compean, today announced a sell-out for the opening match between Brazil and Germany at the 70'000-capacity Jalisco stadium in Guadalajara. Some 80'000 fans are expected to flock to Mexico City's monumental Azteca stadium for Sunday's opening double-header when the home team takes on Saudi Arabia in the second match of the day.
