The draw ceremony will be broadcast live on television from the Televisa San Angel studios in Mexico City, beginning at 11.00 hours local time.

The eight teams will be drawn into two groups. Group A will include Mexico, while the Cup-holders Brazil are seeded to play in Group B.

Group A will play in the Guillermo Cañedo Stadium (the former Azteca Stadium) in Mexico City, scene of the 1970 and 1986 World Cup Finals. Group B will play either in the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, the Universitario in Monterrey or La Corregidora in Queretaro, all stadiums used for the 1986 World Cup.
