The FIFA President will attend the national memorial service in honour of Marc-Vivien Foé in Yaoundé on 12 July. He will also be present at the funeral service to be held in honour of the Cameroonian international in St Jean Cathedral, Lyons, at 16.00 tomorrow. Issa Hayatou, CAF President and Vice-President of FIFA who is also from Cameroon, will accompany Joseph S. Blatter to the services.

The FIFA President expressed the wish to attend the services personally as a demonstration of his deepest sympathy towards the family and friends of the deceased, towards the entire Cameroonian football family, and especially to the Cameroon national team that has stayed on in Lyons.

Marc-Vivien Foé died in Lyons last Thursday after the semi-final of the FIFA Confederations Cup France 2003 between Cameroon and Colombia.
