Cruzeiro forward Kleber is using history to inspire him ahead of the Copa Libertadores decider with Estudiantes tomorrow. A Raposa won the competition in 1976 and 1997, and are the big favourites to make it a hat-trick after holding the Argentinians to a goalless draw in the first leg in La Plata last week.
"We have a copy of the cup here at the club and we all keep staring it. I know what it means winning a championship like this one for a player, the fans and the team," he said.
"We look at all the winners' names on the cup, like Cruzeiro in 1997 and others who won it in the last few years. The celebrations will be something that has no price."
Kleber, though, does not want to appear complacent. "We know it will be tough and we have big respect for Estudiantes," he added. "They have a good team and did a lot to be the champions, but we're hoping to lift that trophy."
All 64,800 tickets have been sold for the match at Cruzeiro's Mineirao stadium, with the remaining 31,800 snapped up in three hours yesterday morning after many fans queued overnight.
