Argentinian champions Estudiantes secured their place in the last 16 of the Copa Libertadores with a 1-1 draw against Tolima in Colombia on Wednesday.

Eduardo Berizzo's side consolidated second place in Group 7 with ten points, while third-placed Tolima have five points with one game remaining and cannot go any further in the competition. Estudiantes took the lead after 24 minutes with a Federico Fernandez header following a free-kick by Leandro Benitez, but Felix Noguera equalised with a penalty seven minutes later.

Estudiantes defender Leandro Desabato said: "This is what we've been looking for - qualification. After we scored, the match became more difficult due to some mistakes by us but we managed to control it in the second half and ended the game in good form."
