Sir Alex Ferguson will be bringing a full-strength squad for the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2008, with FIFA World Player hopeful Cristiano Ronaldo included in the 23-man list.

The English giants will be hoping to add the global honour to their impressive list of silverware this year, which saw them scoop both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League titles. Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Dimitar Berbatov are all expected to feature.

Meanwhile, the other Red Devils in the competition, Egypt's Al Ahly, have selected the likes of Mohamed Aboutrika, Shady Mohamed and Flavio in their travelling party. Their first opponents, Pachuca, boast Colombian shot-stopper Miguel Calero and Paraguayan defender Julio Manzur in their ranks.

Trans-Tasman rivals Adelaide United and Waitakere United have named their strongest possible squads, while 21 out of Gamba Osaka's 23 were born in Japan, the only exceptions being their Brazilian forwards Lucas and Roni.

South American champions, Liga de Quito's squad has undergone several changes since they won the Copa Libertadores in July, however, star quintet Jose Cevallos, Patricio Urrutia, Luis Bolanos, Claudio Bieler and Agustin Delgado are all making the trip.

The first match takes place on Thursday 11 December when Adelaide take on Waitakere in Tokyo in a match which determines who meets Gamba Osaka in the quarter-finals. Both Manchester United and Liga de Quito receive a bye to the semi-final stage.
