Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan coach): "I'm obviously very happy. This win is the best possible way to bring a long, tough journey to a close. We always believed in ourselves. In the first half the match was evenly balanced and both sides had their chances. The tide turned in our favour when we went 2-1 up at the start of the second half. We played some really attacking football today and it paid off. Kaka once again proved why he was voted European Footballer of the Year. We'll remember this victory for a long time to come. It's a great tournament to win and it erases the memory of the 2003 match against Boca. It will hopefully also give us some extra impetus for the rest of the Serie A campaign."

Kaka (AC Milan player): "I'm over the moon. It's a dream come true to win the Club World Cup with Milan. Boca are a great team and the first half was very even. Luckily for us, we were able to play to our full potential after the break. We're really pleased that we could reward our fans with a great performance and of course this trophy."

Miguel Angel Russo (Boca Juniors coach): "In the first half, there was nothing between the two teams in what was a very even match. When Milan took the lead, the game took on a different perspective. My players put in a good performance and I'm pleased with the way they performed. It was the little things that made the difference today. We gave Milan too much room and they really made the most of any chances that came their way. Kaka is an exceptional player who seizes on the slightest spaces you give him in the blink of an eye. He was probably the difference between the two sides. We didn't totally stick to the game plan we'd worked on, but we're not going to let our heads drop, life goes on. Next year, we'll hopefully be back here in Japan."
