Joy for impenetrable Russia
Andrey Bukhlitskiy kept only the third clean sheet in FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup history to help Russia to a 4-0 defeat of Cameroon. The result sealed the Africans' elimination, and ensured that the winner of the Europeans' final group game against United Arab Emirates will advance to the quarter-finals.
An own goal by Aime Yombi put Russia ahead, and Danil Khmara made it 2-0 in the closing moments of the first period. Alexey Makarov added a third on 20 minutes, before Rustam Shakmelyan put the gloss on a one-sided victory with only seconds remaining.
The result also sent Argentina through to the last eight as Group C winners.
