A Facundo Minici treble helped the already-qualified Argentina defeat Cameroon to stroll into the knockout phase on maximum points. The Albiceleste's 3-0 win also ensured the Africans will return home pointless.

The Argentinians employed their technical superiority to good effect from the outset, and Minici fired them in front from the spot on 84 seconds. Before three minutes were up, the No9 had scored his second of the game - and third of the tournament - to strengthen his side's advantage.

Joan Etame came close to pulling one back for Cameroon in the second period, but his powerful strike cannoned to safety off the post. Minici completed his hat-trick with two minutes remaining to put the gloss on a one-sided victory.
