The FIFA.com user community was spoilt for choice when it came to our poll for the Goal of the Tournament at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Ravenna/Italy 2011, as practically every match on the Adriatic coast produced spectacular and breathtaking goals. However, once the votes were counted, the winner was El Salvador striker Frank Velasquez's energetic solo effort in the quarter-final against Italy, the goal which ultimately booked the surprise packages from Central America a place in the last four.
The runners-up spot went to Portugal superstar Madjer. In his team’s group stage romp against El Salvador, he again demonstrated his prodigious technical ability, leaping like a high-jumper to meet Belchior’s pinpoint assist and scoring with a mid-air volley, his body horizontal to the ground. The third-best goal was tucked away by Egor Eremeev, who scored for the victorious Russians in the final against Brazil with an elegant and acrobatic scissors kick.
