Uruguay-Solomon Islands: Quotes

Pampero, Uruguay captain
We made a very nervy start and let a lot of goals in. We began to put things right at the end but their goalkeeper was on top of his game and they put every chance they had away. The big match for us now is against Portugal and we have to win that if we want to go through. We need to be more focused from the kick-off and have a bit more luck.

Robert Laua, Solomon Islands winger
I’m delighted to have scored three goals in my first match. We were very strong at the back in the last three minutes and we managed to hold on. We are very confident now of going through to the quarter-finals.
