Some of you heeded our advice while others failed to believe in miracles. The result was a round exemplary of that old half-time speech, "it 'aint over till it's over."
It was "All hail Austria!" this weekend as ChrisXVII claimed Round 14 without the help of bonus points. Longshot predictions were integral to ChrisXVII's 601 points.
Even with 100 bonus points, second place Navasuki could not beat the Austrian. The Mexican predictor backed big guns Real Madrid to win and Chelsea to draw - solid statistical decisions that were toppled by magical matchdays for Getafe and the Gunners of Arsenal.
Emilio.Inda and DarkDahlia share third place; the duo proved that a single performance can turn it all around. Both the Mexican and Spanish predictor failed to make triple figures in Round 13 but stepped up in 14 to claim a gigantic 571 points. Well done!
The race is on
Just as Chelsea caved to a relentless Arsenal attack, Germanbark's defences fell to pieces. Our long-time leader netted a meager 75 points this round.
To aggravate matters for the Argentinean, second place Saururrex had a phenomenal round. The Mexican contender picked up 310 points and all but vaporized Germanbark's 272-points cushion. With only 37 points now separating the top two, it seems it's finally time for a showdown at the top.
In other battles, kammer held onto third, having regained his composure, but ALESSIA96 is only 89 points behind. Meanwhile, devildriver took a dive down the table. His 76-point haul dropped him into 6th place and well in danger of falling out of the top ten.
HENRY.RIOS claimed fifth place overall with 515 points. The Colombian finally broke into the top five from 46th place after having threatened to score big in the last few rounds.
The momentum has been building for some time now and Round 15 seems destined to be tense. Predictors, here's this week's menu. Good Luck!
