“I have two boys…both are players,” says FIFA Match Predictor Round 34 winner cornel-ROU. The proud father from the city of Ploiesti in Romania is an Engineer by trade. His oldest son is a goalkeeper playing in the USA while the youngest is a midfielder for Sportul Studentesc in Romania’s Liga I.

“I am a childhood fan of Steaua Bucharest,” he says. Today, the Romanian has switched allegiances however, choosing to support his youngest son’s team - Sportul Studentesc. While cornel-ROUs children may enjoy real life football accolades, the father can now add his own football title to the mantel after winning Round 34 of FIFA Match Predictor.

“In the overall standings I don’t have a chance,” he says. cornel-ROU currently sits in 390th place overall and in 15th position on the Romanian leaderboard with only four rounds to go. “I hope to win Predictor in 2012/2013!”

The Round 34 winner can still vividly remember his first ever experience of international football. “I made contact with international football on October 12th, 1966,” he says, “when my father took me to a European Cup match between Petrolul Ploiesti and Liverpool.” [Petrolul Ploiesti won 3-1]. When it comes to making his predictions, the Romanian tries to be disciplined. “I generally allocate 30 to 60 minutes of study before making predictions, otherwise it comes to inspiration and luck.”

It’s not too late to sign up for FIFA Match Predictor. There are three rounds left in this season’s Prediction game, which means three more weekly prizes are still up for grabs! Every week, our round winner receives a football jersey customized with their choice of name and number.
