It’s Thursday and for FIFA Match Predictors that means two things: Getting your predictions in before the midnight deadline and, of course, our weekly interview with one of our recent round winners!

“I watch football every day,” says Predictor Round 30 winner The 17-year old high school student from Valencia, Venezuela is the latest weekly winner in our popular prediction game. We chatted to the youngster after his Round 30 win. You won Round 30 by a very slim margin. What was your secret to success?
I’d say having analyzed the form of each team, a bit of intuition and a bit of luck, which always has its part in football.

Which match surprised you the most in Round 30?
The final one, Estudiantes Tecos against Guadalajara, because thanks to that goal in the 85th-minute I won the round.

Of the 30 rounds played so far, we have had 16 weekly winners from South America. Why do you think South Americans are so successful in playing Predictor this season?
First, because there are a lot of South American players on the game. And secondly because, in South America, we live football in a very special way.

You predicted some big wins for away teams in Russia and Spain in Round 30. What made you decide to back these away teams to win?
I know a lot about European football in general, and especially about the Russian league. I bet on those teams because they were struggling and so they needed those results.

Many predictors follow a strategy of mainly backing home teams. Do you agree with their strategy?
No, you always need to check out how each team is doing respectively and you need to also research the current standings.

With only nine rounds left, we’ve entered the final stretch for this season’s FIFA Match Predictor. Don’t miss out on your chance to win one of the many prizes still up for grabs. Sign up for FIFA Match Predictor.
