A Chilean derby, an English battle for survival and a title challenge in Turkey are just some of Round 32’s big games for Season 3 of FIFA World Leagues Predictor. FIFA.com takes a customary look at the main portions of the Round 32 menu.
Match of the week
Colo Colo-Universidad de Chile (Chile)
Primera Division leaders Universidad de Chile currently enjoy a two-point lead on Colo Colo, with the added advantage of a game in hand. That could all change this weekend when the two sides meet for Chile’s biggest derby. Colo Colo are undefeated at home in nine games, while Universidad have only won 50 per cent of their away games this season. Colo Colo have also enjoyed wins in their last three league encounters between the rivals, making this a tough visit for Universidad.
Fight to survive
West Ham United-Wigan Athletic (England)
Relegation threatened West Ham face a pumped-up Wigan side who showed their bite last weekend when the beat Arsenal 3-2 to push seven points clear of the drop zone. West Ham, who were most recently on the bitter end of a 3-0 scoreline at Liverpool, will have to dig deep if they plan to avoid relegation. A Wigan win would return around 79 points, while a West Ham home victory is worth roughly half as much.
Turkish title battle
Galatasaray have the chance to get within two points of Bursaspor when they host the league leaders in the fourth remaining match of the Turkish season. Bursaspor, who stand on the verge of their first ever Turkish Superlig title, will be no pushovers. The last time Bursaspor visited Gala, they lost 2-1, a statistic that does not bode well considering Galatasaray’s strong home record this season (15 matches, 11 wins, three draws, one defeat).
Roma continue race
AS Roma-Sampdoria (Italy)
With the Serie A race so tight, we can’t help but keep our eyes on Roma. This weekend they will try to see off fourth-placed Sampdoria. Beating Sampdoria won’t be easy; the visitors are on a three game winning streak, which included a recent 2-1 victory over AC Milan.
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors-Ulsan Hyundai Horangi (Korea Republic)
Ulsan Hyundai Horangi, who recently suffered an overwhelming 3-0 defeat to league leaders FC Seoul, will have to regroup as they prepare to take on Reigning K-League champions Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The home side are undefeated in all games this season, a statistic Ulsan Hyundai Horangi will be keen to change.
