It was another crazy week in FIFA World Leagues Predictor. Changes to scheduled league fixtures in England, Bolivia and Uruguay saw Predictors limited to a seven game menu in Round 25. Despite the shortened fixture list, tadda93 scored a hefty 518 points to claim the round and with it a signed FIFA World Cup™ winner’s jersey.
The largest returns this weekend came from leagues in France, Korea Republic and Egypt. In Egypt, Zamalek defeated Petrojet 3-2 (75 points) to move within two points of the second-placed side. Meanwhile in France, Tino was the hero of the day for Montpellier. His 93rd-minute goal salvaged a 1-1 draw at Bordeaux (84 points), keeping the two teams level on points at the top the table. Moving east, fans enjoyed a K-League thriller when Chunnam Dragons hosted Ulsan Hyundai Horangi on Sunday. The final 3-3 score also delighted draw backers who received 79 points for their prediction.
While it only returned 22 points, Our La Liga fixture could not have been more exciting this weekend. Real Madrid’s Rafael van der Vaart scored in the 91st minute to hand Los Merengues a 3-2 win against Sevilla. The last minute victory pushed Madrid into first place on the La Liga table.
Overall leader dannyvilla suffered a shock in Round 25. The leader, who has been blazing a trail at the front of the pack since Round 12, failed to score on any one of the available fixtures.
