Welcome to Season 3

There may be new seasons, signings, coaches and prizes, but it's the same beautiful game. Every week predictors must once again try to muscle their way to the top of FIFA World Leagues Predictor in the hopes of winning some incredible prizes. Season 3's first fixtures take place on 15 and 16 August; be sure to get your predictions in before the deadline!

Packed with prizes
Round winners will each receive a signed FIFA World Cup™ winner's jersey. Second and third-placed runners-up for each round will also receive some FIFA World Cup memorabilia. Manage to finish the season at the top of the FIFA World Leagues Predictor leaderboard and the grand prize is yours: a trip for two to the FIFA World Player Gala 2010 along with a visit to the home of FIFA in Zurich.

The good news
Two weekly news articles will keep predictors up to date on games news and fixtures. Every Monday, a weekend round-up article will announce the weekend's winners and the next round's ten fixtures. Every Thursday, a weekend preview article will offer predictors a closer look at some of the major upcoming fixtures.

League format
The 2009/10 FIFA World Leagues Predictor will consist of 35 Rounds as opposed to last season's 37 rounds. Round 1's matches take place during 15 and 16 August, 2009. The final round of Season 3 will take place over 15 and 16 May, 2010. There will be 5 matchday breaks during Season 3 to make room for FIFA World Cup™ qualification fixtures, and end of year holidays - a time in which professional footballers and predictors alike take a much-needed breather.

The Season 3 blank weekends will be:
5 and 6 September  (2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers)
10 and 11 October (2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers)
14 and 15 November (2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers)
26 and 27 of December (Christmas)
2 and 3 January (New Year)

New features
Below are just some of the new features and extras that we have created for Season 3.

  • Due to popular demand, we have included the match date and kick-off time (GMT) next to each fixture on your predictions page.
  • The Predictor home page now features a 'best and worse movers' table, highlighting the top three climbers and three fastest fallers for each round. There is also a top 50 best movers board, for predictors looking to read up on their competition.
  • Private Leagues were a big hit last season, so we have included a Private Leagues Leaderboard on the Predictor home page.

Time to shine
Round 1's matches take place on 15 and 16 August. Be sure to get your predictions in before the deadline! And remember, the competition is tough; if you want to win that grand prize, be sure to play every round.
