Christmas is a time of giving and receiving, and with that in mind is offering you the chance to get your hands on a very special prize.

All you have to do to is play the FIFA/FIFPro World XI Predictor and select who you think are the 11 best footballers of the year. Chosen by more than 55,000 professional football players from across the globe, the FIFA/FIFPro World XI will be revealed at the 2011 FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala in Zurich on 9 January 2012. And if your line-up matches that of the experts, then your name will go into a Grand Prize Draw for an exclusive jersey signed by some of the players named in the team of the year.

Last year’s star XI featured Iker Casillas, Gerard Pique, Carles Puyol, Maicon, Lucio, Wesley Sneijder, Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and David Villa. That is the receiving part. Now for the giving. All you have to do is cast your vote for the goal of the year and help decide the winner of the FIFA Puskas Award, which will also be announced at the upcoming FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala.

Thanks to the votes of over 1,000,000 people, the original ten-man shortlist has already been whittled down to three, with Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Neymar of Brazil and England’s Wayne Rooney the trio still in the running. The poll is too close to call and your vote could make all the difference in giving one of these three stars the satisfaction of succeeding Turkey’s Hamit Altintop as the scorer of the goal of the year.

Voting closes on the day of the Gala, which means there is lots of time for you to sit down with your friends and family over the festive period and discuss the merits of the three candidates before casting your precious vote.
