The men’s shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award has been revealed, with no fewer than 23 players making the candidates list. The final award winner will be determined by the captains and head coaches of the men’s national teams along with international media representatives selected by France Football, and will be announced at the second FIFA Ballon d’Or gala on 9 January 2012.

However, wants to know which player is your favourite to win the award? Will Lionel Messi take the honours for a third successive year, or will one of his Barcelona team-mates deny him achieving that feat?
