The semi-finals and finals of the FIFA Confederations Cup Korea/Japan 2001 will be subject to the Golden Goal rule if a match ends in a draw after 90 minutes.

Under this rule, the first team to score a goal in extra time will be declared the immediate winner. If no goal is scored after 30 minutes of extra time, the game will be decided in a penalty shoot-out.
