In this Video of the Week we focus on Indonesia, where women’s football is becoming increasingly popular despite facing numerous challenges.

Heidi and Rainer Scheunemann, a German couple who have lived in the Asian nation for almost two decades, have played their part in the sport’s growth after founding the club Galanita Persipura in 2009 and subsequently doing some pioneering work.

The couple, both of whom are football coaches, not only give young girls the chance to develop their sporting ability but also offer them the opportunity to continue their school education at the club.

Click on the video above to discover the difficulties the Scheunemanns and their players encounter despite their successes to date, and find out what hopes they have for the future.
