Drugs and poverty have created a disturbing social backdrop in many parts of the South American country, which is why football has taken on greater significance in preventing those dangers tightening their grip on the nation.
Eight ‘Futbol con Corazon’ projects have helped give more than 2,500 children and youngsters in Baranquilla and its surrounding area renewed hope for a brighter future. Parents are encouraged to become involved in the daily work at the programmes, where they are also offered parenting support.
