He’d just watched his beloved Bafana Bafana lose 5-0 to A Seleção, but this South African boy wasn’t about to go home unhappy.

Neymar’s superb hat-trick had inspired Brazil’s victory at Soccer City and at the final whistle, the youngster ran on to the pitch to try and greet the man of the match. As he was ushered away by stewards, before he’d even got close to the Barcelona forward, Neymar noticed.

Unbelievably, the 22-year-old ran over, picked the beaming kid up, and took him to meet his Brazil team-mates. After a high-five from Oscar and a friendly pat from Jefferson, the ecstatic youngster was hoisted up by the Brazilians.

He then posed excitedly for the above photo with Neymar, David Luiz acting as cameraman.

Those who saw the South African on his way home could be forgiven for thinking Bafana Bafana had thumped the five-time world champions 5-0!
