In Kenya, a non-profit organisation called 'Moving the Goalposts' is using the power of football to help girls and young women gain greater self-confidence and improve their future prospects as part of the Football for Hope programme.

Many young women grow up in Kenya in difficult circumstances, marry at a young age and cannot lead the lives they want due to the submissive role assigned to them in society.

Thanks to football, women in this African country can now build hope for the future by learning to coach young footballers or by acting as referees. These new roles help the women involved to increase their feelings of self-esteem and self-worth and ensure a brighter future for women in Kenyan society.
