In our latest Video of the Week, FIFA.com and FIFA TV take you on a trip to Nepal, where the Sahara Football Academy in the Pokhara region seeks to offer fresh hope to street children, using football as a way to open up new opportunities and reintegration into the community.

The Sahara Club’s academy in Dobilla caters to more than 20 disadvantaged kids, focusing on training sessions and educational programmes. The academy also provides accommodation for the young people, bringing them in off the streets and into a safer environment.

The club also stages an annual tournament known as the Aaha Cup. All revenues raised go directly to the academy, helping to ensure the continued existence of this unique project for future generations of outcast and marginalised kids.

FIFA.com and FIFA TV spent time with some of the children and with academy staff. Enjoy our Video of the Week, and learn more about the first football academy to be set up and run independently by a Nepalese club without outside assistance.
