Football and music have a lot in common. While they both have the power to move the masses around the globe, they are also mutually inspirational.
For example, at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, Shakira’s hit Waka Waka enjoyed universal success and set the tone for the tournament in more ways than one.
“Music is very important to me,” Bayern Munich’s Austrian starlet David Alaba told FIFA.com. “Before a game I try to pump myself up and I listen to music that motivates me. After a match, it depends on the result. After a defeat I just want to switch off and hear calming music so that I can think about the game.”
