Wednesday 11 July 2012 marks the two-year anniversary of the Final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, when Spain became world champions for the very first time in the glorious environs of Soccer City in Johannesburg.  FIFA.com and FIFATV have joined forces to bring you a little closer to that memorable day.

In 2010, the spotlight of world football shone on South Africa as it became the first African country to host the FIFA World Cup. Match 64 is a documentary film that for the very first time allows the viewer to get to the heart of what it takes to put on a FIFA World Cup Final.

From sunrise to sunset and beyond, Match 64 follows not only the two finalists and the match officials, but a whole range of people whose contribution surpassed the game itself – from local organisers to FIFA officials, from born and bred Sowetans to VIPs flown in for the greatest sporting spectacle on the planet. The film offers an intimate portrait of a country that has come of age in this post-apartheid era.
