In its global development programme for the game, FIFA places great importance on supporting women’s football. The women’s game is already well established and growing in many parts of the world, but women’s teams from middle eastern countries are still waiting for their first major success on the international stage.
In one part of the region at least, that could be set to change. The Bahrain women’s national team have set their sights on trophies and titles, and are training hard in pursuit of recognition on and off the field.
