The FIFA World Cup™ Trophy delivered incalculable ecstasy to Christian Karembeu. Fifteen years on from that unforgettable night in Paris, the former midfielder has been watching that prize thrill fans in north Africa.

Karembeu has been accompanying the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola, which recently began its African stay in Egypt.

And though the New Caledonia-born 42-year-old played alongside some of the most skilful players on the planet, including Roberto Mancini, Zinedine Zidane, Juan Sebastian Veron and Raul, he couldn’t help but marvel at seeing British freestyler Abbas Farid showcase his unbelievable trickery by the pyramids – as he’s doing in the above photo.

An unbelievable performance is something Egypt needs from its national team on Tuesday. The Pharaohs lost 6-1 to Ghana in the first leg of their play-off for a place at Brazil 2014, and have it all to do in Cairo.
