The 74th edition of the world-renowned Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup will once again be held at the Buchlern sports complex in Zurich on 16-17 May. As in previous years, plenty of spectators are expected with admission free on both days.
The action kicks off on Wednesday 16 May 2012 at 15.00 CET with the two opening matches, as Panathinaikos take on Grasshoppers Zurich and defending champions FC Porto face FC Zurich.
One day later the final group stage games start at 09.15 CET before the play-offs for third to tenth place get going at 13.30. The hotly-anticipated grand final begins at 16.40 CET.
The Buchlern sports complex comprises three pitches, with two set to host matches and the other kept as a reserve in case of bad weather. The main field offers space for 6,000 spectators, while Pitch 2 can hold 1,200. Around 300 can watch the action on Pitch 3.
The best way to get to the Buchlern sports complex is via public transport. Plan your journey using ZVV’s online system, selecting ‘Friedhof Eichbuhl’ as your destination.
Please note that it is not possible to travel to the Buchlern sports complex by car and that there are no parking spaces at the ground. The number of parking spaces in the local vicinity is also very limited.
