Post-Congress press conference

The football family is reunited in Sydney this week for an important gathering. The entire FIFA Congress was streamed live from 09.30-14.30 local time (01.30-06.30 CET) on Friday 30 May, followed by the post-Congress press conference at 15.30 (07.30 CET). The Congress dealt with FIFA's revised budget for the period 2007-2010, suspensions, expulsions and admissions of Member Associations and amendments to the FIFA Statutes. At the heart of the debates was the 6+5 question, the ratification of the new World Anti-Doping Code and discussions on matches played at high altitude.

The first item on the agenda was the post-Executive Committee press conference, which was held at 15.00 local time (07.00 CET) on Tuesday. The FIFA Executive Committee designated the host countries for the following tournaments: the FIFA Club World Cups for 2009 and 2010, the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2010, the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2011 and the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011. Other topics on the agenda were the status of preparations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, FIFA's upcoming tournaments and the new World Anti-Doping Code, which will be submitted to the FIFA Congress for ratification.
