Each of the six confederations are required to propose a ranking to decide which team will qualify for the YOFTs representing their continent, in order that the best teams are selected. The federations should submit the rankings and teams no later than 21 September 2013 so that the respective teams can be approved by the FIFA Executive Committee during the meeting in Zurich on 3-4 October 2013.
Added to the rankings are the basic parameters to apply:
The YOFTs will consist of two tournaments: a boys' and a girls' competition, with six participating teams consisting of 18 players each;
Eligibility of players: 15-years-old (born between 1 January and 31 December 1999)
There will be a maximum of one team per confederation for the respective boys' and girls' tournaments;
The same country may not qualify for the boys' and for the girls' competition.
As hosts China have qualified for the girls’ competition, they are ineligible for the boys’ tournament with the principle that the same country may not qualify for both tournaments.
CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, UEFA
The respective teams will be approved by the FIFA Executive Committee during their meeting in Zurich on 3-4 October 2013.
