After playing host to five FIFA Women's World Cup matches in September of 2007, including Germany's 3-0 demolition of Norway in the semi-final, the Tianjin Olympic Centre Stadium is expected to fully embrace the Olympic Football Tournament with a similar atmosphere.

Construction on the Tianjin Olympics Center Stadium was completed by the end of 2006. With a capacity of 60,000, the ground represents the city's past of hosting top international competitions and its view to remaining a footballing hotbed in the future. It will boast 500 VIP seats, 300 media places and 120 seats for the disabled and is just 30km away from the Tianjin Binhai International Airport.
