Wise Up

FOOTBALL, A GLOBAL LANGUAGE

Wise Up made history when they became the first FIFA National Supporter from the education sector.

Wise Up, a leading English language school for adults, which is present in over 79 cities in Brazil as well as around the world, made history back in the fall of last year when signing up to become the first FIFA National Supporter from the education sector.

“Never before have the eyes of the world looked to our country like now,” explained Wise Up President Flávio Augusto da Silva at the signing ceremony. “We want to show that education is deeply necessary to develop a country, and that Brazil can be an example of tolerance and hospitality to all the people who will come here to celebrate their passion for football.”

Wise Up at the FIFA Confederations Cup

Selected Wise Up students from all host cities worked behind-the-scenes at the FIFA Confederations Cup through a destination management company that was involved in hosting guests at the event on behalf of FIFA Commercial Affiliates. This not only represented an excellent opportunity to make good use of their language skills, but also offered them a chance to further practice their English in the field.

Wise Up was also present with a Commercial Display in Rio de Janeiro and attracted many visitors keen to test their language skills and football knowledge through a special quiz. A handy Wise Up phrase book was distributed as a reward for participating fans.

Lastly, Wise Up entertained 11 guests selected as a result of a special cultural contest at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 final between Brazil and Spain.
