Dressing for the big game
Itaú's involvement with football, Brazilians' great passion, began more than 20 years ago.
Itaú is the largest Latin American bank and one of the largest in the world, with approximately 97,000 employees and operations in 20 countries throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe. In Brazil, Itaú has nearly 5,000 full-service branches and close to 28,000 ATMs.
Itaú's involvement with football, Brazilians' great passion, began more than 20 years ago, with the sponsorship of the TV broadcast of games of various competitions, including FIFA World Cup™ qualifiers, Brazilian national team exhibition games and the Brazil Cup.
In October 2008, this role was reinforced when Itaú became the official sponsor of Brazil's national team in all its categories and then, in April 2009, the bank became the first company to sign as a National Supporter of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™.
With Commercial Displays at all six Host City venues, Itaú played a prominent role at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brazil 2013, running a competition that encouraged fans to dress up in eye-catching styles and have their pictures taken, before and after, at the Commercial Display area. Fans chosen as the best dressed were contacted at half-time of the match they were attending and then invited along to the post-match media conference as a reward.
As might be expected from one of the world's largest financial institutions, Itaú also took full part in entertainment and hospitality, with suites nicely decorated and branded at each of the venues.
