Joe Cole (28) has been with Chelsea since 2003. The England international has already taken part in two FIFA World Cups™ (2002 and 2006) and has scored 36 goals in 294 Barclays Premier League games for the Blues.
Luis Felipe Scolari will be turning 61. The Brazilian coach led his homeland to glory at the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan before guiding Portugal to fourth place four years later at Germany 2006. Scolari is currently the coach of Uzbek club Bunyodkor.
Jens Lehmann is currently the oldest active player in the Bundesliga. Yet despite turning 40 this week, the former Germany No1 still remains among the goalkeeping elite, and is currently appearing in both the UEFA Champions League and the German top tier. Arguably his finest hour came at Germany 2006, when the former Arsenal shot-stopper shone in the quarter-final shootout against Argentina.
Philipp Lahm (26) is one of the world's best full-backs and currently plies his trade for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich. With the German national team he took part at both UEFA Euro 2004 and the 2006 FIFA World Cup on home turf. The reliable defender has scored three goals in 62 caps for his country.
Enzo Francescoli, who took part in two FIFA World Cups, is turning 48. The Uruguayan appeared at both Mexico 1986 and Italy 1990, scoring one goal in eight matches. Francescoli brought an end to his illustrious career, which took in spells in France, Italy and Argentina, in 1997.
Lucas Barrios (25) signed a four-year deal at former UEFA Champions League winners Borussia Dortmund over the summer, having won the Chilean league title with Colo Colo the previous season. The Argentinian striker scored an incredible 49 goals in 53 matches for the South American side.
Thomas Vermaelen celebrates his 24th birthday next Saturday. The Belgian international joined Arsenal in pre-season and has impressed in the Barclays Premier League with some solid performances and a number of important goals. Indeed, Vermaelen has already notched four in ten matches for the Gunners this term.
