Online Qualification Season 3 for the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2013 was packed with players, matches and goals! Over 4.9 million games were played over the course of the month with the number of average goals scored per player shooting up to 34.8.

After the third online season, FIWC is bursting at the seams with over 1.6 million participants! With 5 seats already secured for the Grand Final, we are pleased to announce the next two players to earn their seats at the Madrid Grand Final. Congratulations to Martin Oscar (Spain) and Krasimir Ivanov (Bulgaria)! joined the two winners for an exclusive interview. Congratulations to you both on qualifying for the Grand Final. What made you both decide to take part in this year’s FIWC?
Martin Oscar:
I have always wanted to become a world champion in virtual football. I tried in both 2011 and 2012 but unfortunately I was unsuccessful in qualifying for the Grand Final. But, finally I managed to make it this year!

Krasimir Ivanov:
The FIWC is the biggest and most amazing thing that I’ve ever experienced in my life. I experienced it in Dubai in 2012 and can’t wait to experience it in Madrid in 2013!

Are you excited about the Grand Final being held in Madrid?
Personally I would have preferred another place because I live in Madrid (laughs). However, I took part in the competition to win the title first and foremost, not to just go on a trip.

Ivanov: Yes of course, I have never been to Madrid before. I hope to get the chance to watch one of Real Madrid’s games or maybe even meet the players!

How will you both mentally prepare for the Grand Final?
This will be my first FIWC Grand Final but it won’t be my first competitive event. I think I have what it takes mentally and my aim is just to remain calm.

Ivanov: I will do what I always do. I will train a lot and analyze all my opponents. I will find their weaknesses and defeat them in Madrid.

Oscar this is your first Grand Final. Will you now take a break from FIFA or will you continue training for the Grand Final?
I rested for a few days and now I will continue training.

Krasimir, at FIWC12 in Dubai you made it all the way to the quarterfinals. Did you rely purely on skill or do you also have any lucky rituals that you do before, or at, a competition?
I do different things before different competitions but it doesn’t seem to have any effect. I always seem to lose in the quarter or semi-finals! I never seem to have any luck! (laughs)
