With the end of Online Season 6 the qualification road for the FWIC 2014 Grand Final has drawn to a close. Congratulations to the final few players who managed to secure qualification for the Grand Final in Rio de Janeiro on 2 and 3 July!

French team grows
Adrien Viaud finished at the top of the Online Season 6 leaderboard, making him the fifth French gamer to qualify for Rio. Les Bleus virtuels will have a strong presence at the Grand Final, least of which will be defending champion Bruce Grannec who will be looking to secure a hat trick of FIFA Interactive world titles.

Michael Ribeiro finished in second-place for Online Season 6, ensuring that the USA is once again represented at the main event for the largest gaming tournament in the world. To date, The USA has only ever had one interactive world champion.

Dutch strength
With victory in the Season 6 Community Qualifier, Steven van de Vorst has helped the Netherlands become the second-most represented nation at the FIWC 2014 Grand Final. A Dutch gamer has not lifted the FIWC title since 2006. Will a member of the Dutch camp manage to do at FIWC 2014 what their national team came so close to achieving at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™?
