The FIFA Interactive World Cup (FIWC17), the world's largest gaming tournament, has an entirely new tournament format!

Qualification for FIWC17 runs from November 2016 to April 2017, with the final live event, The Grand Final, taking place in London in late August 2017. 

Whether you’re on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4, the 13th edition of the FIWC is your chance to express yourself on the virtual pitch more than ever before. The winner of FIWC17 will receive $200,000 (USD) along with a trip to The Best FIFA Football Awards™ 2016, while the runner-up will take home S100,000.

Road to London
To secure one of the 32 seats at the London Grand Final, players have to first successfully navigate online qualification and gain access to one of the live qualification events. At the live qualifiers, participants will compete against the best players from their respective regions to try and win a seat at the London Grand Final.

The Road to London includes various ways for players to qualify for the FIWC17 Grand Final in London:
• Ultimate Team Championship Series
• FIWC Regional Final EUROPE
• FIWC Regional Final AMERICAS
• FIWC Regional Final ROW
• FIFA Interactive Club World Cup

There are three qualification regions for these events:
• Europe
• North, Central and South America
• Rest Of World

The entire Road to London will be played in two divisions: the PlayStation 4 Division and the Xbox One Division.

Online Qualification 

The Road to London online qualification phase is powered by the all-new FUT Champions mode, based on FIFA Ultimate Team. Players now have the chance to build their own squad and take it to the world stage.

Participants have to climb the monthly FUT Champions leaderboards in their respective region by winning as many online games and weekend challenges as possible. The highest ranked players will then make it to the live qualification events.

The online qualification phase for the FIWC17 runs from 1 November 2016 to 30 April 2017. There are three online qualification seasons in total.

  • FUT Champions Season 1: 1 to 30 November 2016
  • FUT Champions Season 2: 1 to 31 January 2017
  • FUT Champions Season 3: 1 February to 30 April 2017

Regional Live Qualifiers
Players from FUT Champions Season One and Two will qualify for the FIFA Ultimate Team Championship Series, and players from FUT Champions Season Three for one of the FIWC Regional Finals.

FIWC Regionals (22 Grand Final seats)
From February to April, participants can take their chance and play in the FUT Champions Season 3. The players who are ranked best in an accumulated regional leaderboard for each division of all three months within the Season 3, make their way to the FIWC Regional in their area. At the FIWC Regionals, contestants fight their way through a group and knockout stage before ultimately a certain number of them get the chance to prove themselves on the world’s stage at the FIWC17 Grand Final in London.

The seats at the FIWC Regional Finals will be awarded as follows:
Europe: 40 seats (20 Xbox One / 20 PS4): Top 20 Eligible players on the regional leaderboard from each division during Season 3
Americas: 32 seats (16 Xbox One / 16 PS4): Top 16 Eligible players on the regional leaderboard from each division during Season 3
Rest of World: 16 seats (8 Xbox One / 8 PS4): Top 16 Eligible players on the regional leaderboard from each division during Season 3

At the FIWC Regional Final Europe, the top 5 eligible contestants in each division will obtain their ticket to London, the top 4 eligible contestants in each division at the Regional Final Americas and the top 2 eligible contestants in each division at the Regional Final Rest of World.

EA SPORTS™ FIFA 17 Ultimate Team Championship Series (8 Grand Final seats)
EA SPORTS hosts an all-new competition this year, the Ultimate Team Championship Series. The Ultimate Team Championship Series includes two two-month-long seasons of in-game qualification, six live Regional Finals and one live Championship. The eight best finishers at the Championship will also qualify for the FIWC 17 Grand Final (4 seats for PlayStation and 4 seats for Xbox). FIFA Interactive Club World Cup (2 Grand Final seats)
To compliment the surging interest in virtual football shown by historic clubs such as Wolfsburg (Germany), Valencia (Spain), Manchester City (England) and Sporting Lisbon (Portugal), all of which have signed their own full-time EA SPORTS™ FIFA players, FIFA is launching the official FIFA Interactive Club World Cup (FICWC)!

For the first time, real football clubs can send their players onto the virtual pitch to compete with other in a major tournament. The FIFA Interactive Club World Cup will see some of the best EA SPORTS FIFA 17 players representing their official clubs. The tournament will be played on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The tournament winners for each division will receive a seat at the 2017 Grand Final.

Grand Final
32 finalists will compete at the FIWC17 Grand Final, the pinnacle event of an entire year of competitive FIFA gaming. At the event, the world’s 16 best Xbox One and 16 best PlayStation footballers will compete for the world title.

The full breakdown of qualification seats for the FIWC17 Grand Final is as follows:

• Ten players from the FIWC Regional Qualifier Europe (5 PlayStation, 5 Xbox)
• Eight players from the FIWC Regional Qualifier America (4 PlayStation, 4 Xbox)
• Four players from the FIWC Regional Qualifier Rest Of World (2 PlayStation, 2 Xbox)
• Eight players from the Ultimate Team Championship Series (4 PlayStation, 4 Xbox)
• Two players from the FIFA Interactive Club World Cup (1 PlayStation, 1 Xbox)
