On 2 and 3 July the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2014 (FIWC 2014) Grand Final took place at the very heart of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, Rio de Janeiro!

In Rio, in the middle of full-blown World Cup fever, virtual and real football came together like never before. Along with the FIWC trophy, new FIWC champion August Rosenmeier left Brazil with USD 20,000 in prize money and a trip for two to the next FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala, where August and his guest will spend a night amongst the greatest names in football.

The opening day took place at Fluminense's Estadio das Laranjeiras and the Day 1 live stream covered the entire group stage and quarterfinals for the Grand Final. On the second day of the competition, the four remaining players made their final push for the FIWC title. The final showdown, which took place atop Sugarloaf Mountain, consisted of the semi-finals, match for third place and gold medal final.
