With 686 points, tunnisia finished well ahead of the pack to win Round 28. The Tunisian winner’s road to glory included backing Tottenham Hotspur to beat Chelsea at White Hart Lane (88 points), anticipating St. Patrick's Athletic's win at Sligo Rovers (75 points), and foreseeing Defensor's victory at Penarol (85 points). The only prediction that escaped the winner was Juventus's 4-1 defeat of Roma (61 points).
Runner-up metagol1 suffered from three inaccurately predicted draws in Spain, the USA and England. Barcelona’s rampant 6-1 win, Chicago Fire’s comfortable 3-1 victory and Spurs' surprise win tainted an otherwise solid performance by the American predictor.
Third-placed fckrla7 was undone by home wins for Odd Grenland and Club Africain. Failing to snatch bonus points also proved detrimental to her attempts to claim a FIFA World Cup™ winner’s jersey. LaArgentina will be smiling despite finishing fourth. The American’s 549 points pushed her from tenth into third overall; she is now 584 points shy of first and 226 points within range of second-placed AGEUVO.
Saururrex roars
Saururrex pulled away from the pack at blistering speed this round and turned a 74-point lead into 358-point one. The overall leader finished in fifth-place for Round 28 and even managed to bag bonus points, a feat rarely accomplished more than once by the top ten.
AGUEVO, who has been in second-place for the past seven rounds, struggled this round. The volley of surprise results in Uruguay, England and Japan dramatically dented the American’s title chase.
Zizo10 once again regained his footing. The Jordanian is now in fourth place and just twenty points away from third-placed LaArgentina.
