Ecuador's shock defeat of Argentina returned 84 points for the winning trio, with trator and Felipe87 also correctly anticipating a 2-0 result in Quito. Over in Recife, Brazil's reverse of Paraguay carried a 25-point reward.
Despite being a man down with ten minutes to play, Saudi Arabia managed to hold the Asian Zone's Group 2 leaders Korea Republic to a 0-0 draw, which earned its backers 78 points. In Europe's Group 9, FYR Macedonia's win over Iceland was worth 66 points.
It may be unlucky for some, but the 13th minute proved fortuitous for Honduras. It was then that Carlos Pavon struck the only goal against El Salvador to earn his country's backers 40 points. Mexico's narrow victory over Trinidad and Tobago returned 18 points.
