With only a few more months to go, the FIFA Quality Programme is also in the middle of preparations for the FIFA World Cup™. The installation and testing of a goal-line technology system in each of the 12 competition stadiums will be the main task between now and the beginning of the tournament. An initial visit of the stadiums took place in January, so selected provider GoalControl will be able to start installing the systems in most of the stadiums as of now.
All systems will then be tested by a FIFA-accredited test institute to ensure they reach the FIFA QUALITY PRO level required by the Laws of the Game. The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will be the first of its kind to offer match officials support through goal-line technology.
