After having received a tribute from his former club Juventus on Sunday 5 January, David Trezeguet made good use of his trip to Europe with a courtesy visit to the CIES headquarters in Neuchâtel.
The International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) was delighted to welcome David Trezeguet, World and European Football Champion as well as star striker at Juve for over a decade. After visiting the headquarters of the institution, David exchanged views with CIES officers on issues important to him, such as the development of football and education in sport. It goes without saying that his accomplishments as a player during the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France and UEFA EURO 2000, as well as recollections of his performances in Italy were also discussed.
“Although David has become one of the great names in football over the years, he is still straightforward, open and friendly, which is entirely to his credit”, declared CIES President Bertrand Reeb. President Reeb had already enjoyed the opportunity to exchange views with the player during the “10th Anniversary Conference“ in Buenos Aires on 18 October 2013.
David Trezeguet participated in the most recent edition of the UCA/FIFA/CIES Programme in sport management, which has been organised in Argentina since 2004.
